How to measure for compression socks

Four measurements we need
These measurements help StepUP confirm the correct compression sock size, length, and style before payment.
Ankle
Measure just above the ankle bones at the narrowest point.
Calf
Measure around the widest part of the calf.
Leg length
Measure from the floor to just below the back of the knee.
Shoe size
Include men’s or women’s shoe size.

Measurement questions
When is the best time to measure?
Measure first thing in the morning before swelling increases, or after swelling has been reduced through elevation.
Should I measure both legs?
Yes, especially if one leg swells more than the other. Add both measurements in the notes.
What if I am between sizes?
Submit your measurements. StepUP will confirm the best size before you pay.
Do I need a prescription?
No. Healthcare worker compression socks through Pacific Blue Cross do not require a prescription. If you remain at youir 80% reimbursement level with Pacific Blue Cross and have a secondary plan sometimes you will need a Rx to get the remaining 20% covered.
